The Sensor Node That Counts Every Stage
Tork Edge mounts on your existing line, counts pieces and reads machine state at each stage, and sends it over LoRa to Tork MES. No changes to machine controls, no cable runs across the shop floor.
Getting Data Off the Floor Is the Hard Part
Most plants already know they need stage-level counts. What stops them is wiring every machine, opening up PLCs that vendors won't let you touch, and keeping Wi-Fi alive next to furnaces and heavy motors.
- Pulling network cable to every machine is slow, costly, and disruptive to running lines
- Machine PLCs are often locked by the OEM, so tapping them for counts isn't an option
- Wi-Fi struggles with the distances, metal structures, and electrical noise of a plant floor
- Manual tally sheets at each stage are late, incomplete, and hard to reconcile
From Conveyor to Dashboard
How a count moves from the line to Tork MES.
Mount at the Stage
Tork Edge is clamped at a conveyor or machine discharge with an external sensor. Nothing on the machine or its controls is changed.
Count & Detect State
The device counts pieces passing the stage and tells running apart from stopped, so it records both output and downtime.
Transmit over LoRa
Readings go over long-range, low-power LoRa to a gateway in the plant. One gateway can cover many stages across the floor.
Live in Tork MES
The gateway forwards data to Tork MES, where it becomes live yield per stage, stoppage alerts, and shift reports.
Built for the Plant Floor
Long-Range LoRa
Covers the plant floor from a central gateway, without per-machine network cabling.
No Machine Modification
External sensing only, so your machines, PLCs, and warranties stay untouched.
Piece Counting
Counts pieces at each stage so you can see yield between stages, not just at the end of the line.
Machine State
Detects running and stopped states so downtime is timed automatically, not estimated.
Fast Installation
Mounted and commissioned without stopping production for long.
Industrial Build
Designed for the heat, dust, and vibration found on glass and plastic lines.
Before You Ask
Do we need to connect Tork Edge to our PLC?
No. Tork Edge uses external sensors to count pieces and detect machine state, so PLCs and machine controls are not touched.
Why LoRa instead of Wi-Fi?
LoRa reaches much further on low power and copes better with the metal structures and electrical noise on a plant floor, so a small number of gateways can cover the whole plant.
Can Tork Edge be used without Tork MES?
Tork Edge is designed to feed Tork MES, which turns raw counts into yield, downtime, and shift reports. Talk to us if you need the data in another system as well.
